Finding Time for a Clean House

Who has the time to maintain a clean house these days? We work too much, sit in traffic for longer than we can possibly imagine, commitments with family and friends seems to overtake the weekend, and there is never time to clean the house!

There’s always too much clutter, too much mess, too much dust, and never enough time to keep up with the cleaning struggle.

Well, here are a few tips from Brothers Carpet Cleaning on how to help keep it together so your cleaning is more manageable when your time has disappeared. Remember that organization does not happen immediately and that these suggestions are to help us maintain long term progress. While all of this is based on common sense approaches, training ourselves to get into this type of routine is challenging.

Everything needs a home

If you do not have a place for something to go, question whether or not it is needed

When you take something out of its home, always put it back

Makes sense, right!? You’d be surprised at how much time you can preserve when you go out of your way to implement this simple concept. The snowball effect is quick when you do not put things back where they belong; plus, you spend less time looking for lost items!

Clean your counters, dishes, and sinks every day!

If you refuse to go to bed before you take care of cleaning your kitchen counter and sinks, you will wake up to a clean kitchen every day (and one without any bugs or insects).

Something every day

Have a list of 5 weekday chores which only take 20 minutes to accomplish, and one bigger, deep cleaning project each weekend. When you are in the habit of cleaning daily, you can avoid the piling up of daunting tasks.

Vacuum often!

Your carpets need to be vacuumed at least 2-3 times a week. Protect your investment by keeping up on the vacuuming and having your carpets professionally cleaned at least every 12 months.
